There are more than 45 million visually handicapped people in India. At least 30 million of them are not totally blind, but partially sighted. Unfortunately their conditions are neither curable medically nor correctable optically by conventional spectacles, contact lenses etc. As such, these people may find it difficult to recognize faces, to carry out their routine work such as walking across the road, watching television, reading books, newspapers, shopping etc.

A significant number of these people can however find Low-Vision devices useful, so that they can perform their tasks, which otherwise they could not. Low Vision Devices cannot restore lost vision but the affected can be encouraged to use the residual vision to do their work.

Low Vision Devices in this set comprise of single lens devices mounted onto spectacles or used as hand magnifiers. Such devices can help almost 80% of patients for reading.
This set can be used to judge the magnification required by a patient. Spectacles and hand magnifiers contained in the set can also be loaned to the patient for trial at home.
